Who is Mahinder Singh Dhoni?

MS Dhoni aka MSD is the captain of the Indian cricket team. He hails from Ranchi the capital of the state of Jharkhand. He captained Indian cricket team in One Day Internationals (ODIs) limited over matches from the year 2007- 2016. And also in Test cricket or five days match tournament from the years 2008-2014. He is a right- handed middle order batsman and a wicket keeping captain. Regarded for the best and fantastic finishes of matches that he played at the same time. History:

Born on July 7th 1981- Ranchi, Jharkhand. His father worked in the junior management Positions in MECON ltd, hailing from a very humble background. He studied In DAV Shyamali Ranchi, now known as Jawahar Vidya Mandir. During his school days he excelled in Hockey and football. He was a goal keeper in the football team of his school. When his Football coach sent him to play cricket for a local cricket club. Never having played cricket before, he impressed everyone with his wicket keeping skills. And became the regular wicket keeper at the Commando Cricket Club (1995-1998).

He started to focus on cricket only after reaching the 10th Standard. Also started his cricketing career at the age of 17 years from the year 1998 he started playing junior cricket in Bihar. He became a part of Bihar cricket team: MS Dhoni made his Ranji Trophy for Bihar in 1999- 2000 as an 18 year old. He made 68 runs in his debut match against the Assam Cricket team. And closed the season with scoring 283 runs in 5 matches.

Start of the ODI career:

The Indian ODI team in the early 2000s saw Rahul Dravid as the wicket-keeper to ensure that the wicket-keeper spot didn't lack in batting talent. The team also saw the entry of wicket-keeper/batsmen from the junior ranks, with talents like Parthiv Patel and Dinesh Karthik (both India U-19 captains) named in the Test squads. With Dhoni making a mark in the India a squad, he was picked in the ODI squad for the Bangladesh tour in 2004/05. Dhoni did not have a great start to his ODI career, getting run out for a duck on debut. Inspite of an average series against Bangladesh, Dhoni was picked for the Pakistan ODI series.

Although being a success in his field, there was a time when he faced ban from two matches in the December of 2009. He was suspended for two ODI matches against Sri Lanka by ICC match referee Jeff Crowe as India was three overs short of the specified rate. Virender Sehwag acted as captain for the two matches in Cuttack and Kolkata.

There has been a movie made on him. The movie depicts his days of struggle in Ranchi, to being the TTE at the Kharkpur Station to his career in Indian Cricket team.
