Importance of Phalguna Amavasya

According to the Hindu Calendar, Phalguna is the month which falls from March to April as per Gregorian calendar. It falls before the Chaitra month (April to May), which marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year. The last month of the year is called Phalguna and therefore Phalguna Amavasya is the last Amavasya of the year.
