Pradosh Vrat is done on both ‘Trayodashi Tithis’ (thirteenth days) of a lunar month. It is also known as Soma Pradosh, Bhauma Pradosh and Shani Pradosh depending on the day it falls on. 

Pradosh Vrat is one of the significant Vrats observed by Hindus for revering Lord Shiva and Parvati. The word ‘Pradosh’ signifies evening and the love related with Pradosh Vrat starts amid the night dusk or on sandhya kala.
