The marriage of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita is celebrated as Vivah Panchami aur Ram Sita Vivah Utsav. It is believed that Lord Rama and Goddess Sita got married on this auspicious day. It marks the anniversary of couple from Ramayana. The Vivah Panchami is celebrated on the fifth day of Shukla Paksh or also called as the phase with waxing of moon during the month of Margashirsha month or the month of November and December.

The festival is celebrated with lot enthusiasm at Janakpur, the birth place of Goddess Sita, Nepal and Ayodhya, the birth place of Lord Rama.

Just like a traditional marriage, the idols of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita are dressed like bride and bridegroom. A proper marriage with all the rituals is performed on the day.

The Vivah Panchami shall be celebrated on the day of 27th November this year. The mahurats of the same are as follows:
