The Chinese company Xiaomi has launched a phablet in India called Redmi Note at a price of Rs. 8.999. The company has also launched one more variant 4G-LTE which has 5.5 inch phablet and is named Redmi Note 4G priced Rs. 9,999.

From 2nd December onwards the Xiaomi Redmi Note will be available through flash sales similar to their previous launches of Xiaomi Mi3 and Redmi 1S. Customers who want to buy this product on flipkart will have to register first on their website after 6 pm IST on Tuesday November 25 2014. There is no confirmation from the company on how many units will be available for sale.

The Redmi Note 4G will be available on sale at Airtel stores in 6 different cities from the 2nd half of December and to buy this product as well customers will have to register separately.

At the launch of Redmi Note the company Xiaomi revealed that they will be having more than 100 service centers operational in India by next year.

The company has teased its fans on Facebook with the first appearance of Redmi Note last week and has also sent an official invitation of the launch.

The phone is dual sim with dual standby and is powered by 1.7GHz octa-Core Media Tek MTK6592 SOC featuring a Mali-450MP4 GPU coupled with 2 GB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.2.2. with Xiaomi's MIUI v5 skin on top.

The Redmi Note 4G runs on a quad-core 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU coupled with 2GB of RAM and is a single-SIM device. It would be Android 4.4.2 KitKat enabled with the same MIUI v5 skin. Xiaomi has also said that the updates to Android 5 Lollipop will be available in the future but haven't confirmed the date of update available.

Both the smart phone Redmi Note and Redmi Note 4G have similar specifications- 5.5 inch720x1280 pixel IPS LCD screens and feature 13 megapixel rear autofocus cameras with LED flashes as well as 5 megapixel secondary camera.

Both the phone Redmi Note and Redmi Note 4G has 8GB built in storage and it can be extended as it has microSD cards slots and Redmi note supports upto 32GB and Redmi Note 4G supports upto 64GB.

If we talk about connectivity options on the Redmi Note it includes GPRS/EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802, 11 b/g/n with Wi-Fi direct and hotspot functionality, Bluetooth 4.0, a micro USB port with OTG Support, and A-GPS.

Both the Redmi note and Redmi Note 4G has 3,100mAh batteries for fast charging.
