Bhagavad Gita is considered to be one of the most sacred epics of Hindu mythology. The epic teaches lessons about life, philosophy, spirituality, leadership and how to achieve success in life. Further, This day is the birth of Holy book Bhagavad Gita. It falls on the 11th day of Shukla Paksha also called as Ekadashi Day.

This is celebrated on December 21st, 2015 this year. Further, It shows respect towards the teachings of Lord Krishna in the Mahabharata.

Importance of Gita

The epic is not just a holy book from Hindu mythology. Although, It teaches lessons of humanity, leadership and other qualities. That can help a human being lead a successful, happy and focused life. Celebrations on Gita Jayanti

This day is celebrated with the recitation of Gita and its teachings. Great scholars and leaders address people with lessons and teachings of life. Seminars, talks, and discussions are being carried on the same too.

Spiritual Celebrations

Temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna celebrate this festival with all rituals. The devotees of Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu gather at Kurukshetra. After that, they take holy bath at Sannihit Sarovar and Brahm Sarovar.

Further, A literature fest is being organized at Kurukshetra focusing on literature, art, and teachings of life.

This day also marks the celebration of Moksha Ekadashi. The devotees observe fast on the day or Ekadashi.
