Winter Solstice and Astrology Winter Solstice and Astrology

Solstice is also known as equinox which tells us about our relationship here on Earth to the Sun at any given season. A solstice is a scientific term used while describing the day of the year when the sun is furthest from the equator. There are 2 solstices in a year which consist of one solstice during the summer, which lengthens the day to the maximum and another winter solstice during the winter, which shortens the day to the minimum during the year. The timing of these depends on a particular hemisphere you are focusing on.

How winter solstice occurs?

Thats the right thing to remember about an equinox or solstice is that they mark the beginning of a new season. There are 2 equinox points each year (autumn and spring) and 2 solstice points (summer and winter). They each correspond to one of the 4 Cardinal signs of the zodiac which is also known as the Cardinal axis. This axis is very significant in Astrology because it finds the powerful angles in a birth chart. These angles are points of the energy manifestation. They are highly sensitive points in the chart which can trigger every major life event. Each of these points on the Cardinal axis will correlate to one of the 4 cardinal directions (north, south, east and west).

Winter Solstice and cardinal signs

The Winter Solstice may occur when the Sun appears to stand still at the southernmost point of the equator (the Tropic of Capricorn) and then slowly begins to trek north again. The Winter Solstice occurs on December 21 and usually marks the shortest day of the year. Astrologically, it coincides with the beginning of the Cardinal zodiac sign Capricorn. From the perspective of the soul, the Winter Solstice is about celebrating the rebirth of life in all forms. From here the days will get longer and the Sun will shine brighter. The Hope can be renewed. Zodiac signs related to the solstices are all called Cardinal signs. Cardinal signs begin each season and are associated with qualities of the initiative. A solstice, we celebrate the start of something overall new. Each season has an essential job for a specific purpose that we rely on for our very existence. The winter solstice points are like the sacred markers in time which help us connect the dots to the unexplained mystery behind the Earth's non-ending circle of life. Astrology is meant to boost your happiness.

The winter season

The Winter Solstice has always been associated with rebirth, reincarnation, reinventing oneself. Why not consciously get emotionally involved. Let your emotional nature, who is the actor/actress within, express itself fully on the Winter Solstice. Drama, be it a tragedy, love or comedy, is how your emotional nature expresses itself and learns. Rational reasoning, logic, facts, is for your mind and is really boring for your emotions which hold the secrets to magical, loving relationships. Love, the most sought-after of all feelings, is kept hidden inside the chambers of your emotional nature, waiting for someone who understands its language of feelings, intuition, and stories to bring it out into the light.
